If you know me by now, you know I’m going to do my coffee research and then report back. Today I’m bringing you my Top 5 Coffee Shops in the Jax Beach/Neptune Beach region and the highlights you won’t want to miss at each place.
#5: Bold Bean Coffee Roaster
Bold Bean was one of the first coffee shops I visited when moving down here. Bold Bean is there for you. They are open for a majority of the day and night. You can work from Bold Bean or catch up with friends. The location makes it perfect to grab a drink for the beach as well.
The most random but my favorite item from Bold Bean is their sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin. I don’t know how I stumbled upon such a gem, but do not skip. Or do, so there is some left for me!!!
Seasonal flavors are definitely not mainstream with lots of spiced and unique flavor combinations. Skip if you’re looking for white chocolate pumpkin flavored latte. Proceed if you want to know what country your beans of origin came from over a cozy pour over.
#4: Lukumades
Lukumades is unassuming, but deserves a spot on this list because they serve the coffee, really really well. They also offer something I haven’t found elsewhere, a freddo cappuccino. A freddo style cappuccino is commonly served in Greece, with an iced espresso base and cold foam frothed milk on top.
It’s what every iced latte dreams of being. And Lukumades serves it deliciously. They offer a ton of flavor add ins. Plus they are also a great location for a coffee for the beach. Staff are always so friendly, which is a huge plus.
#3: Round Bird Coffee Shop
Round Bird is really special. They hone in on good coffee and great food. You can hunker down at Round Bird with your laptop. Or gossip over egg bites. Round Bird has one of the best and most diverse flavor offerings for their drinks. They commonly put out fun and unique flavor combinations. It’s really fun walking in and deciding what type of flavor you’re going to add to your drink based on what they’ve designed on their seasonal board.
I say this lightly, but the quality of the drink is dependent on who the barista is. I’ve had some really good drinks and some really not so good drinks.
#2: Le Petite
Le Petite, is a fan favorite. Le Petite boasts a huge French-style food menu and probably has the most expensive espresso machine I’ve laid eyes on. The only other place in the area I’ve been able to get such velvety almond milk in a cappuccino is at the RH Rooftop Restaurant in Town Center.
The food speaks for itself and the coffee never disappoints. Also offering a seasonal drink menu, Le Petite keeps it fun and enjoyable to come back time and time again.
#1: Show Pigeon Coffee
There’s no bigger flex than being open from 8-1 and closed on weekends. That’s one indication of you’re doing it right. And you don’t need to be open all day to prove your worth. You know those restaurants that are literally open for 3 days a week 5-10pm? Show Pigeon is the coffee shop equivalent.
Let’s start with the atmosphere. Show Pigeon boasts no. 1 because it hits all my factors: good drinks, good food, good ambiance. There is not much I would change about Show Pigeon, except adding bacon to their breakfast burrito.
The drinks are artisanal, always rotating seasonal specials, and 10/10 times coming out with pure love. You can feel the love that was made with your drink on that first sip.
Easy to work from, catch up with a friend, or anything in between. Show Pigeon is somewhere I would spend an entire day and be happy about it. A local gem that I almost wanted to gatekeep, but for the true coffee connoisseurs, Show Pigeon is a must.
Hope this helps for the coffee connoisseurs <3
xx
